After the successful completion of 60 South Terrace, Nelson Architects were commissioned for a mixed use development on the adjoining site that had planning approval but could not proceed due to budget constraints.
Nelson Architects re-designed the complete building to provide 44 one, two and three bedroom apartments over a ground floor entrance lobby, retail tenancy and storage lockers. Carparking is provided by a 4 level car stacking system at the rear.
All apartments have either parkland or city views with light wells to both the east and west façades providing natural light and ventilation to the rear of the apartments. Solid feature dividing panels in the light wells provide both visual and acoustic privacy to residents. Full width balconies to both north and south façades provide private outdoor living areas for each apartment.
The rectilinear façades have the floors expressed as dark negative elements, with a feature grid in white to assist in creating a human scale and elegant articulation of the overall building.
